dinner - fish 'n chips

tonight i wanted to eat one of my personal favorite food combinations,
"fish 'n chips", so that is what we had for dinner!

i made oven baked "chips" by cutting red potatoes and one sweet potato (a delicious addition!) into wedges, coating them with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, red chili pepper flakes, and rosemary, and cooking them in the oven for about 30 minutes.

the "fish" were just some breaded fish fillets we bought from the store, though i think next time i might use try to use some tilapia and make my own batter.

for both the fish and the chips, i made a kind of dipping sauce with mayonnaise, sour cream, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and lots of fresh garlic. (my dad used to make a sauce similar to this one when i was little and serve it with fish sticks, but he used relish instead of lemon juice. delicious!)

i also made a salad for some healthy greens, with red lettuce, granny smith apple, avocado, feta cheese, dried cranberries, and slivered almonds, tossed in a homemade dressing of olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
